Ronnie Garcia

Ronnie Garcia is the host of The Drive with RG on The Raider, heard live weekday afternoons. A retired educator and former high school principal in Fort Worth, Ronnie brings a steady, thoughtful presence to the microphone—shaped by decades of leadership and storytelling.

Ronnie’s radio career began in Texas broadcast radio in 1984 and includes network experience with Texas State Network News and stations across Texas, including outlets in Abilene, KWKC-AM 1340, KGNZ, KEAN, KORQ, and KTLC, along with KVRP in Haskell County. One of his most memorable early stops was “some awful station near a cemetery that only played classical music.”

Ronnie has a deep love for sports broadcasting and serves as the football play-by-play voice of the Stamford Bulldogs and the Abilene Gladiators.

Away from the microphone, Ronnie is married to his wife, Meg, and is an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest in Abilene, where he serves as a lay reader and video stream technician. His hobbies include attending live music, playing guitar, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family.
