George Orosco

George Orosco is the host of SoundTracks with George, airing live Saturday mornings on The Raider. The show highlights the roots of rock & roll while staying grounded in local connections, conversations, and community voices.

In addition to his on-air role, George serves as a marketing consultant, with a focus on helping local small businesses grow and create meaningful impact in the community.

George is retired U.S. Air Force, having served from 1972 to 2005 with USAF Fire Protection. His military career included an appointment as a firefighter with the U.S. Army at Fort Sam Houston near San Antonio and deployment during Operation Desert Storm, which brought him to Dyess Air Force Base in 1990. He retired from Dyess in 2005 as a Tech Sergeant and later served overseas in Iraq for several years as a first responder in a contractor role.

Following his military service, George continued serving the Abilene community as Custodial Supervisor at Abilene High School for 12 years. He also continues to work as an event host at Shotwell Stadium for athletic events.

George is married to his wife, Angela. Together they have five sons, three daughters, and 14 grandchildren, including their newest grandchild, Elizabeth, born in Alaska. The Oroscos enjoy traveling to visit family and are active parishioners at Holy Family Catholic Church. George is also a Mason, a drummer, and enjoys attending live music.
