Warrior Wednesday

The Warrior Wednesday Podcast brings you the inspiring stories and candid conversations from our weekly on-air feature with Mornings with Chad Ray on The Raider. Each episode spotlights the voices of veterans, active-duty service members, and those who support them — sharing their journeys, challenges, and triumphs. From personal reflections to community initiatives, Warrior Wednesday honors the men and women of our Armed Forces while connecting listeners in the Big Country to the stories that matter most.
Retired Army veteran Bryan Lovett joins Chad Ray for Warrior Wednesday to look back on a remarkable 30 years in the Army Reserve. Raised in Northern California with deep family roots in West Texas, Bryan’s military journey took him from administrative work and infantry training to a long career as a Military Police soldier, including service in Iraq in 2003.
Bryan shares stories from assignments and training missions across the country, his years as an observer coach/trainer preparing troops for overseas deployments, and why he chose to remain an E-6 so he could keep doing the hands-on work he enjoyed rather than simply chasing rank.
Today, his service continues through the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), where he helps fellow veterans navigate disability claims, benefits and resources available to their families. He also introduces Chad to Sarge, his Belgian Malinois and constant companion.
Bryan’s advice after three decades in uniform is simple: pursue the opportunities you enjoy, take care of yourself along the way, and “do it until it’s not fun anymore.”
